Dorka Hlinková
About
In the paintings of Dorka Hlinková, the relationship between nature and humanity takes center stage. Inspired by her travels and personal experiences, her work delves into the search for belonging and meaning, often embracing the beauty of unanswered questions. Through her art, she explores existentialism, absurdism, and intuition, creating a dialogue between the viewer and the canvas.
Dorka’s paintings invite viewers to step into spaces that encourage reflection and discovery. Humor often weaves its way into her work, serving as a gentle guide through the deeper themes she explores.
She works primarily with oil on found materials, breathing new life into discarded objects that carry their own silent histories. This process allows her to connect with people, times, and memories, resurrecting the meaning of what was once cherished.
Based in the Czech Republic (born in 2003), Dorka currently studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno University of Technology (Painting Studio 1, led by doc. MgA. Vasil Artamonov and MgA. Marie Štindlová).
